Job summary

MDI Mechanic position located onsite in Fall River, MA for 1st shift from 7:00am to 3:30pm. Full-time role focusing on packaging equipment maintenance in a GMP regulated environment.

Responsibilities include installation, repair, and preventive maintenance of process equipment, coordinating parts, and ensuring safety protocols are followed in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

• Highschool diploma or GED.
• 2–4 years of packaging experience with repair/maintenance knowledge.
• Pharmaceutical environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform installation, repair, and troubleshooting of process equipment (electrical, pneumatic, electronic, and mechanical).
• Maintain operating machines and correct malfunctions.
• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance of equipment.
• Select and collect parts required for repair from storeroom.
• Work with other mechanics to set up and repair process equipment.
• Follow safety procedures and use lockout/tagout.
• Keep a safe, clean, and organized work area with 100% functional equipment.

Job description

MDI Mechanic - 1st Shift

Onsite in Fall River, MA

Full-Time

1st Shift 7:00am to 3:30pm

Required: Automated packaging line experience at a pharmaceutical, food, or cosmetic company

• Perform all functions according to current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
• Perform installation, repair, and troubleshooting of process equipment as required, including electrical, pneumatic & electronic, and mechanical systems.
• Efficiently maintain operating machines and correct any malfunctions.
• Perform schedule preventive maintenance of equipment.
• Select and collect parts required for repair from storeroom.
• Work with other mechanics to set up, troubleshoot, and repair process equipment.
• Responsible for "Downtime ", "Change Over Time ", "PM's " and "Productivity " results.
• Responsible for completion of the PM's, in the required amount of time to maintain equipment efficiency.
• Communicate possible deterioration of equipment by using the parts logbook and the troubleshooting form – "One Point Lesson”.
• Maintain a safe, clean and organized work area with all automatic equipment 100% functional.
• Follow safe procedures when repairing or maintaining equipment.
• Use Log Out/Tag out and all required safety equipment.
• Recommend equipment maintenance improvement to reduce cost and safety hazards.
• Restart machines in a short period of time when required by business needs.
• Provide immediate feedback to Supervisor on unsafe equipment or working conditions.
• Adhere to company Safety, Health and Environmental policies.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience

• Highschool diploma or GED
• 2-4 years of experience in packaging with knowledge of repairing and maintenance activity and qualifications, preferably in a pharmaceutical company.

Skills/ Competencies

• Knowledge of current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), Packaging Area Standard Operating Procedures and Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations
• Must be able to clearly communicate in English (verbal and written).
• Self-motivated, with the ability to work in fast-paced manufacturing environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Good basic math knowledge and excellent attention to details.
