Job summary

Gundersen Health System's Emplify Health by Gundersen is seeking a board-certified cardiothoracic surgeon to join our premier cardiac program in La Crosse, Wisconsin. A collegial, physician-led culture supports innovative surgical techniques and compassionate patient care.

The role offers a predictable schedule with set OR blocks, a heavily inpatient workflow, and a 1:3 call rotation. Teaching and mentorship of residents and medical students are central to our Medical Education philosophy.

Qualifications

• Board-certified cardiothoracic surgeon with completed surgical residency.
• Experience in inpatient cardiothoracic surgery and teaching is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform a comprehensive range of adult cardiothoracic procedures.
• Maintain a predictable OR schedule with dedicated blocks.
• Inpatient-focused workflow with one day of outpatient clinic per week.
• Contribute to teaching and mentorship of residents and students.
• Participate in a 1:3 call rotation for night, weekend, and holidays.

Practice Highlights

Must have completed an accredited graduate medical training program and be board certified or eligible within the area of medicine stated. In addition, must have or be able to provide a license to practice in our multi-state region with no restrictions or limitations.
