Job summary

Gundersen Health System's Emplify Health by Gundersen in La Crosse, WI seeks an MD/DO to join our Preadmissions team. This FTE role focuses on evaluating and optimizing patients prior to hospital admission or procedures, with a Monday–Friday daytime schedule, no nights, no weekends, and no call.

You will conduct comprehensive assessments, manage procedural anticoagulation, and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

  • Must have completed an accredited graduate medical training program.
  • Board certification or eligibility in the stated area of medicine.
  • Must have or be able to obtain a license to practice in our multi-state region with no restrictions.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and optimize patients prior to hospital admission or surgical procedures.
  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and procedural anticoagulation management.
  • Coordinate with anesthesiology, surgery, primary care, subspecialty consultative services, nursing and pharmacy teams.
  • Teach students, residents, fellows or clinical staff as part of our Medical Education philosophy.

Job description

Emplify Health by Gundersen in La Crosse, WI is seeking a MD/DO to join our Preadmissions team. Choose the FTE that matches your lifestyle! The physician will play a critical role in evaluating and optimizing patients prior to hospital admission or surgical procedures. This position involves comprehensive patient assessments, procedural anticoagulation, coordination with multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring patients are medically prepared for their upcoming care episodes. Practice highlights: Enjoy a Monday through Friday daytime schedule, no nights, no weekends, no call Work collaboratively with the support and collegiality of our anesthesiology, surgery, primary care, subspecialty consultative services, nursing and pharmacy teams to assess risk and medically optimize patients prior to undergoing procedures This practice is shared with a team of advanced practice providers

Must have completed an accredited graduate medical training program and be board certified or eligible within the area of medicine stated. In addition, must have or be able to obtain a license to practice in our multi-state region with no restrictions or limitations. Medical staff in our system will supervise advanced practice clinicians. Medical staff may need to provide outreach service as part of their role in the system. Teaching students, residents, fellows or clinical staff is cornerstone to our Medical Education philosophy and an expectation of all medical staff.
