Job summary

3M HEALTHCARE is seeking a Principal Clinical AI Evaluation Strategist (MD) to lead strategy and evaluation of generative AI in clinical and educational products. You will shape frameworks for medical knowledge representation and collaborate with clinicians, AI teams, and product developers to ensure clinical accuracy and educational outcomes.

The role requires MD with 10+ years of clinical experience, proven leadership of large expert teams, and deep expertise in medical informatics and content

Qualifications

• MD required with 10+ years of clinical experience.
• Experience evaluating AI systems for clinical applications.
• Proven track record leading large expert teams using project management and agile methods.
• Expert understanding of clinical knowledge systems and medical content validation.
• Experience developing evaluation frameworks for AI in healthcare.
• Extensive knowledge of medical terminology, workflows, and healthcare education needs.
• Experience with clinical decision support systems and medical knowledge bases.
• Ability to communicate complex medical/technical concepts to diverse stakeholders.
• Background in medical education and clinical content development.

Responsibilities

• Setting and driving strategy for evaluating generative AI in clinical and medical education contexts.
• Co-developing evaluation roadmaps with product teams and medical professionals.
• Leading governance for clinical content evaluation and AI-driven medical information systems.
• Championing and managing complex projects evaluating AI models in clinical use cases.
• Driving innovation in medical knowledge representation strategies for AI coverage.
• Developing and implementing content enrichment to ensure accuracy and relevance.
• Fostering cross-functional collaboration between clinical experts, AI teams, and product developers.
• Guiding evolution of evaluation standards for AI-generated clinical content and education materials.
• Leading and mentoring team members in clinical AI evaluation methodologies.
• Creating insights and recommendations to improve AI performance in healthcare applications.
