Job Details

MD Call Specialists in our Patient Care Center of Excellence perform various duties to ensure quality care for ExactCare’s patients. They work in a closed-door pharmacy environment, communicating with patients, doctors, and facilities via phone, supporting different stages of patient care and contact. Responsibilities include navigating pharmacy software, supporting patient onboarding, and managing case queues. This role is office or remote-based, in a cubicle environment, providing an exceptional patient experience in a fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver exceptional customer service in a phone-based environment.
  • Process prescription data accurately and efficiently.
  • Use drug knowledge to handle prescription authorizations, clarifications, or transfers.
  • Perform claim adjudication, prior authorizations, billing, and eligibility checks, including outbound calls.
  • Resolve patient care issues through case management.
  • Coordinate between clinical pharmacists and medical professionals.
  • Assist with patient onboarding and maintain confidential records.
  • Retrieve and verify prescription information through doctor calls.
  • Make welcome calls to new patients and update medication profiles.
  • Support higher call volumes as backup.
  • Respond to patient inquiries over the phone.
  • Support nationwide patient base in a high-volume environment.
  • Perform other tasks as needed.

  • Proficient with computers and pharmacy software.

  • Thorough drug and billing knowledge.

Requirements
  • Must be 18+ years old.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Prior pharmacy experience preferred.
  • Pharmacy technician registration preferred.
  • CPhT certification preferred.
  • Ability to work remotely or in-office, sitting at a desk most of the time.
  • Availability to work 9 am - 5:30 pm EST, Monday to Friday.
