Responsibilities

• Demonstrates superior knowledge and practice in the first scrub role.
• Understands supply costs and independently works with the team to assure quality of care while considering cost containment.
• Demonstrates superior knowledge of varied surgical equipment and advanced instrumentation. Ensures appropriate equipment and supplies are available for each procedure.
• Assists in communication with Biomedical Services regarding equipment repair or maintenance.
• Educates staff in the care of instrumentation and equipment.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED.
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Certified Surgical First Assistant (CSFA) required as of September 1, 2010, or 'grandfathered' employees or LVN.
• BCLS certification for some locations.

Minimum Experience

• Two (2) years of experience.
• Ability to work in at least 3 different specialty areas.
