Description
Summary

A Cashier associate provides excellent customer service by greeting customers, processing transactions accurately and efficiently, and maintaining the store's appearance and organization. Responsibilities include greeting customers, scanning merchandise, handling sales, refunds, and exchanges, and performing training, maintenance, and stocking duties as assigned. As often the first and last person customers interact with, the Cashier should create a friendly environment and thank customers for their patronage.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Adhere to CNRG’s Mission and Values
  • Process customer transactions accurately and promptly (credit cards, cash, checks, etc.)
  • Greet customers entering and leaving the store
  • Verify merchandise details for transactions
  • Handle returns, exchanges, and sales
  • Answer phone calls courteously and promptly
  • Manage payments on commercial accounts and assist with credit applications
  • Prepare and file tickets for customer pickups and rain checks for out-of-stock items
  • Count cash, prepare deposits, and organize the cash drawer
  • Use verification systems according to company policies
  • Handle paperwork efficiently, including reports and documentation
  • Assist customers in locating items and call for team support as needed
  • Protect company assets through proper cash handling and controls
  • Maintain a positive customer service attitude
  • Follow all cashier procedures and accurately distinguish similar products
  • Keep the store clean and organized
  • Perform other tasks assigned by management

Must demonstrate CNRG’s Mission and Values consistently. Good communication skills are essential for interacting with customers, vendors, and colleagues. The role requires customer service focus, teamwork, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks. Physical requirements include climbing ladders, reaching, bending, lifting up to 50 lbs., handling large or odd-shaped items, and stocking overhead. Accurate money counting and product knowledge are necessary. Flexible scheduling, including weekends, evenings, and holidays, is expected.

This hourly position offers no guaranteed career progression but opportunities for internal advancement are considered. CNRG promotes from within based on experience.

Pay range: $16.66 to $22.25
