We help ambitious students gain admission to the world's top universities through expert-led guidance and proven, data-driven strategies. Crimson students are 7x more likely to get into the Ivy League than their peers. We were recently featured on the front page of the Wall Street Journal.

Crimson is the only college admissions consultancy that brings together:

  • Former Ivy League and Top 20 admissions officers to rigorously review and refine applications
  • Professors and PhD teaching fellows from leading universities to guide students through original, independent research - with pathways to selective peer-reviewed publication or conference presentation
  • Past ISEF winners and judges who coach students to compete for state, national, and international science fair awards
  • Capstone project mentors who help students design and scale leadership initiatives with real-world impact, measurable outcomes, and credible external validation

We're backed by leading VC firms, including Tiger Global, Heal Partners, IceHouse Ventures, and Movac, and recently closed a USD $40M Series D funding round at a USD $640M valuation. We now operate across 21 markets worldwide, including the US, Canada, UK, Singapore, Japan, Hong Kong, Australia, and New Zealand.

The Role

Crimson Education is expanding its physician-led Medical Admissions Division, and we are seeking a high-impact MCAT Tutor who can deliver exceptional instruction and help us build our MCAT prep ecosystem from the ground up. This role is ideal for someone who excels in teaching, enjoys creating high-quality learning resources, and wants to shape a new, premium MCAT offering within a fast-growing global education company.

The MCAT Tutor will provide personalized, high-quality MCAT instruction to pre-med students while also contributing to the development of Crimson's MCAT curriculum, tools, and learning materials. Because Crimson is launching this capability from scratch, the tutor will play a foundational role in building the structure, content, and student experience of our MCAT program.

What are the main responsibilities for this role?
  • 1:1 MCAT Tutoring: Deliver high-quality, personalized instruction across all MCAT sections, adapting teaching methods to each student’s learning style, pace, and score goals.
  • Student Assessment: Conduct initial diagnostic reviews, identify content gaps, and create individualized study plans that drive measurable score improvement.
  • Ongoing Coaching: Provide continuous guidance on test-taking strategy, pacing, study habits, and weekly accountability to keep students on track.
  • Session Planning: Build structured lesson plans for each student, including targeted milestones, content review, and strategy reinforcement.
  • Progress Tracking: Monitor student performance, adjust plans based on data, and communicate progress clearly to students and families.
  • Resource Development: Create foundational MCAT materials such as practice questions, section-specific drills, CARS reasoning walkthroughs, and concise content summaries to support tutoring sessions.
  • Curriculum Input: Collaborate with Crimson’s Medical Admissions team to shape the emerging MCAT prep framework, ensuring materials align with AAMC standards and student needs.
  • Quality Assurance: Review and refine MCAT resources for accuracy, clarity, and instructional effectiveness.
What skills and experience are required?
  • 520+ MCAT score
  • Minimum 2 years of MCAT tutoring experience, ideally in a 1:1 or small-group setting.
  • Strong teaching ability with proven student score gains.
  • Deep familiarity with AAMC frameworks and MCAT cognitive skills.
  • Ability to create clear, accurate, and engaging educational content.
  • Strong communication skills and a student-centered mindset.
  • Demonstrated ability to keep students engaged, accountable, and on task during 1:1 sessions, including managing pacing, motivation, and weekly follow-through.
  • Comfort working in a fast-moving, startup-like environment.
Why work for Crimson?
  • Rapidly growing start up, with a flexible working environment where you will be empowered to structure how you work
  • Limitless development and exposure - our internal promotions/role changes made up 33% of all recruitment last year

  • Insightful fireside chats and workshops to help support our high-performing and ambitious team
  • Radical Candor is a feedback approach we live by
  • We're a global player with 28 markets (and growing) across the globe. Most roles have the option to work from one of our many offices or remotely!
