About Us:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Writing Assessment Specialist with a passion for educational assessment and a strong command of academic writing.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, review, and refine writing prompts and assessment materials for the MCAT, ensuring alignment with MCAT objectives and content accuracy.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to maintain the accuracy and rigor of the MCAT writing assessment.
  • Score and provide constructive feedback on writing samples using established rubrics, ensuring consistent and high-quality assessment.
  • Participate in scorer training and calibration sessions to maintain standardized scoring practices.
  • Analyze assessment data to identify areas for improvement and inform the ongoing development of the MCAT writing section.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of the MCAT writing assessment process.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in English, Education, Psychology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in writing assessment, standardized test development, or a related field (MCAT experience preferred).
  • Exceptional command of English grammar, composition, and academic writing, with a strong ability to identify and correct errors.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to maintain accuracy and consistency in scoring.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Familiarity with medical/scientific terminology is a plus.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
