The City of McAllen, Texas is seeking a Transit Operator to drive a city bus on fixed routes according to a published schedule. You will provide safe, dependable, and on-time transportation for the public with courtesy.

Under general supervision, you will follow state and local traffic laws, city ordinances, and transit safety rules to protect passengers. You will engage travelers and support reliable public transportation for the community.

Job description

Under general supervision, the Transit Operator operates a transit bus on specified fixed routes with prescribed time schedules. Employee is responsible to provide safe, dependable and on-time transportation services to the public in a courteous and friendly manner. The transit operator must strictly adhere to all applicable state and local traffic laws and regulations, and City ordinances, safety rules, policies and procedures to ensure the well-being of all passengers.
