Job summary

Herren Associates in Washington, DC is seeking a Systems Modeler to develop, build, and maintain MBSE products for DoD customers. You will create SysML models representing system structure, behavior, and interfaces using Cameo Systems Modeler or equivalent tools, and support analyses for trades and decision making.

The role focuses on parametric modeling, time- or state-driven behavior, and ensuring traceability from requirements to model elements. Prior DoD involvement is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• 3+ years of systems engineering/MBSE experience.
• Hands-on parametric modeling in SysML.
• Experience with Cameo Systems Modeler or similar MBSE tools.
• U.S. citizenship and DoD clearance eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain SysML models representing system structure, behavior, and interfaces.
• Build parametric models and constraint blocks to capture engineering relationships.
• Model dynamic system behavior using state machines, activity diagrams, sequence diagrams, or simulation-based methods.
• Represent time-dependent and state-driven behavior of complex systems.
• Support trade studies and analyses by executing parametric and behavioral models.
• Integrate SysML models with MATLAB/Simulink/Modelica to validate dynamic system behavior.
• Maintain traceability between requirements, functions, interfaces, and model elements.
• Support development of architecture products, including mission threads and use cases.
