Job summary

Eaton Corporation in Raleigh, NC (with consideration for Moon Township, PA) seeks a Model‑Based System Design Specialist to drive model‑centric engineering across product programs. You will apply MBSD, MBSE, and MBD to improve requirements clarity, architecture modeling, and virtual analysis for UPS, power electronics, and data center power technologies.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years in MBSD for embedded control, with strong experience in power electronics.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited institution.
Minimum of 7 years of experience in Model-Based System Design (MBSD) for embedded control system development, with strong application of model-based workflows in domains such as power electronics and power systems.

Responsibilities

Support model‑based development workflows, including plant modeling, control algorithm development, system level simulation, and early phase virtual validation.
Develop and maintain Simulink/Stateflow models for system and component behavior across power electronics, UPS systems, datacenter power distribution, electric drives, and other control‑centric applications.
Assist with architecture and requirements modeling, including SysML/System Composer functional structures, behavioral models, and requirement decomposition.
Perform system‑level analysis through co‑simulation of plant and control models, virtual performance assessments, trade‑off studies, and early phase concept evaluations.
Apply model‑based verification techniques, including MIL/SIL analysis, Model Advisor quality checks, requirement‑linked test execution, and simulation‑based behavioral validation.
Support auto code generation workflows by structuring models for C/C++ integration into embedded firmware.
Collaborate with cross‑functional engineering teams—firmware, software, hardware, systems, and power electronics—to align requirements, architecture, and model‑based artifacts.
Contribute to modeling standards, documentation, reusable libraries, templates, model structures, and modeling guidelines.
Support domain‑specific modeling needs for converters, inverters, UPS topologies, power quality systems, motion/drive systems, and other simulation‑driven applications.
Advance MBSD and MBSE workflows by updating processes, enhancing modeling automation, and refining toolchain configurations.
