Capital One invites MBA students to join a 10-week, full-time internship in Chicago as part of the MBA Development Program. Interns will be evaluated for a full-time role after completion, with in-person attendance at a Capital One location under a hybrid work model.

Qualified candidates are pursuing an MBA with degree by Aug 2028, have strong quantitative backgrounds, and leverage data and customer insights to influence product decisions.

Qualifications

• MBA student with degree by Aug 2028 or earlier.
• Must be continuing MBA after internship.
• Bachelor's or Master's in a quantitative field OR Bachelor's with 3 years PM experience.
• 2+ years of experience leveraging data and customer insights to drive decisions.
• MBA joint degrees with technical Master’s programs (e.g., MS/MBA).
• 4+ years of experience in Tech/DS/Consulting/Financial Services.

Responsibilities

• Own product strategy and lifecycle for features, align with business goals, prioritize improvements.
• Develop hypotheses, set analytical frameworks, test solutions and monitor initiatives.
• Lead sprint teams to ship, scale, and improve products delivering customer value.
• Manage a backlog, balance trade-offs, and remove impediments for the team.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with developers, designers, analysts to build cutting-edge products.

MBA Product Intern - Summer 2027

This is a full-time paid internship program spanning ten weeks from June through August 2027. Participation in the internship requires that you are located in the continental United States with in-person attendance at your assigned location, in accordance with Capital One’s hybrid working model, for the duration of the program.

Interns will be evaluated for a full-time position within our MBA Development Program, with a start date approximately one year following the completion of the internship.

Basic Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a 2-year MBA with an expectation that your degree will be obtained by August 2028 or earlier
• Must be continuing in the same course of study of your MBA following completion of the internship
• Currently has: A Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree in a quantitative field (Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Information Systems or a related quantitative field), Business or Marketing OR A Bachelor’s degree in any field and 3 years of Product Management experience

Preferred Qualifications

• At least 2 years of experience leveraging data and customer insights to make strategic business decisions, influencing stakeholders to adopt proposed strategies, translating business strategy into roadmaps, and leading high functioning teams through execution
• MBA joint degrees with technical Master’s programs (e.g., MS/MBA)
• 4+ years professional experience in Tech, Data Science, Consulting, Strategy, or Financial Services
• Demonstrated interest and experience in product management, software delivery, data science, software engineering, or leveraging software to solve customer and business problems

Specific responsibilities may include, but are not limited to

• Product strategy: Own success and life cycle of features for a product and/or platform, setting its strategy in line with overall business goals and driving prioritization decisions toward improvements. Translate business strategy into products; solve the right problems by deeply understanding our business, developing customer empathy, and integrating multiple streams of data
• Hypothesis-driven problem solving: Develop hypotheses and set up your own analytical frameworks to test for the best solutions. Scope operational feasibility, lead implementation efforts and monitor the success of new initiatives
• Leadership: Manage sprint team to ship, scale, and improve products that delight our customers and position company for substantial growth
• Results: Test and learn your way to something new while taking into account business strategy, market analysis, user feedback, analytics, and technology best practices. Take action, get around roadblocks, and stay focused on goals. Well-organized and able to juggle multiple deliverables while always utilizing data analysis, technology, and human-centered design to keep the customer goal in mind. Salary / Location

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

• Chicago, IL: $169,000 - $169,000 for Post-Grad Intern, Product Management
• McLean, VA: $186,000 - $186,000 for Post-Grad Intern, Product Management
• New York, NY: $203,000 - $203,000 for Post-Grad Intern, Product Management
• Richmond, VA: $169,000 - $169,000 for Post-Grad Intern, Product Management

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.
