Job summary

MasterBrand Cabinets LLC in Weslaco, TX seeks a CI Tech to drive continuous improvement across the plant. This role participates in Kaizen events, facilitates projects, and is hands-on from concept to sustainment.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Expert knowledge of departmental manufacturing processes and lean manufacturing.

  • Proven ability to lead, teach/train others and demonstrable public speaking skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and understand process, product components and manufacturing environment.

Position Summary

This position is responsible for accomplishing all duties of the CI Tech with a proven record of success in driving continuous improvement throughout the plant. This position will require Kaizen event participation and facilitation, to ensure continuous improvement projects are implemented throughout the plant. This position is considered “hands‑on” during project conception, development, deployment, and sustainment activities.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Participates and leads Six Sigma, Kaizen and Safety teams/events.
  • Assists in definition, measurement and analysis of problems.
  • Audits/validates production process and takes corrective action as necessary to train to the documented process.
  • Documents processes through standard work.
  • Trains others to the documented standard work.
  • Assists with on‑the‑job training of associates in the assigned department.
  • Carries out, responds to and contributes to all written and verbal department instructions.
  • Complies with safety rules, regulations and procedures and ensures effective housekeeping practices.
Knowledge & Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent required and experience in a manufacturing facility preferred.
  • Expert knowledge of departmental manufacturing processes and lean manufacturing.
  • Proven ability to coach other associates on the Five Traits of Success and promote a positive attitude, teamwork, and cooperation in the work group.
  • Proven ability to lead, teach/train others and demonstrable public speaking skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and understand process, product components and manufacturing environment.
  • Proven ability to establish effective working relationships with key stakeholders and leadership throughout the organization.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills required.
  • Proficiency in general office and application software: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, SharePoint, QlikView (Warranty Returns), DMR (Discrepant Material), AS400, and associated IBM work queries.
  • Proven ability to maintain clean, safe and orderly work area, giving safety of self and others a priority.
  • Proven ability to follow all established safe practices and procedures, including reading and understanding Material Safety Data Sheets.
Work Environment

Manufacturing environment, with frequent exposure to wood dusts and cabinetmaking related materials. Exposure to hot and cold elements due to non‑climate‑controlled environment. Wearing of Personal Protection Equipment required: eye and ear protection. Adherence to Entanglement clothing policy required.

Sensory / Physical Requirements

Sensory: Frequent speaking, hearing, near vision, far vision and touch. Physical: Frequent head/neck static position, rotation, flexion and extension. Frequent change in torso/back position, frequent stooping, bending and twisting. Frequent finger dexterity. Frequent simple grasp, firm grasp and wrist flexion. Frequent sitting, standing, walking, crouching, kneeling and climbing of stairs and ramps. Frequent lifting, pushing, pulling, reaching and carrying. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and perform repetitive‑motion tasks for the duration of the working shift.
