Job summary

Mauser Packaging Solutions in Indianapolis is seeking a skilled maintenance technician to maintain and repair can assembly presses and related equipment. You will read schematics, troubleshoot issues, and perform preventive maintenance to minimize downtime.

Applicants should have a High School Diploma or GED and 3–5 years of experience in maintenance within a manufacturing setting. A strong safety mindset and meticulous record-keeping are essential.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret schematics and drawings related to maintenance.
• Troubleshoot, rebuild, repair and improve machinery with minimal supervision.
• Operate machine tools to fabricate parts for maintenance and setup of machines.
• Ensure safety devices function properly after repairs or installations.
• Maintain detailed maintenance reports and documentation.
• Uphold housekeeping, safety, and company policies.

Responsibilities:

• Able to use all equipment and machinery, and understand and read all schematics and drawings, related to the trade requirements
• Troubleshoot, rebuild, repair and improve all active and new machinery and equipment without supervision
• Operating machine tools to fabricate parts required for maintenance and setup of machines
• Ensure operating safety devices function properly on completion of repairs, modification and installations
• Committed to continuous improvement on machinery, equipment and processes, via preventative and predictive maintenance on production and production supporting equipment
• Keeping detailed and accurate maintenance reports and documentation
• Has an exemplary attitude towards housekeeping, safety and company policies

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED
• 3-5 years’ experience in a maintenance of Can Assembly Presses within a manufacturing environment; or equivalent combination of training and experience
• Maintenance and repair of waxers, scroll shears and Cone Top presses.
• Ability to interpret documents such as procedure manuals, blue prints, schematics, charts, diagrams, etc.
• Ability to use precision measuring devices including amp meters, electric meters, and hydraulic gauges
• Basic understanding of systems, equipment and schematics
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Good troubleshooting skills
• Basic mathematical skills used to add, subtract, multiply, divide, and use decimals and fractions
• Ability to perform work in a mature and professional manner, demonstrate personal responsibility, and perform all assigned duties
