Role Description

This full-time, hybrid Matrimonial Attorney (Litigation) role is based in the New York City Metropolitan Area. The attorney will manage a litigation-focused caseload involving high-net-worth divorce, complex asset division, child custody disputes, and related family law matters from intake through resolution. Day-to-day responsibilities include leading case strategy and management of; drafting pleadings and motions, preparing and responding to discovery, conducting legal research, and appearing in court for conferences, hearings, and trials. The role involves advising clients on legal strategy, negotiating settlements, collaborating with experts (such as forensic accountants and psychologists). The attorney will work closely with the firm’s managing partner to develop winning litigation strategies and advance the client goals and uphold the firm’s commitment to excellent work.

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in Matrimonial and Family Law, with demonstrated 3+ years experience handling New York complex matrimonial litigation.
• Ability to provide clear, practical Legal Advice to clients on high-asset divorce, custody, and related strategies.
• Proficient in legal Research, including case law, statutes, and regulations relevant to New York family and matrimonial matters.
• Skilled in Negotiation and settlement discussions, particularly in high-conflict or high-net-worth cases.
• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and in good standing with the New York State Bar. Connecticut Bar Admission a plus.
• Excellent written and oral advocacy skills, including drafting motions, briefs, and settlement agreements.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple competing priorities.
• Commitment to client confidentiality, professional ethics, and a collaborative team environment.
