Huntington Ingalls Industries, Inc. in Norfolk, VA is seeking an inventory control specialist to manage and maintain warehouse stock for CNAL EQOL operations.

You will ensure timely and accurate handling of parts and equipment in a Navy-focused environment. This is a full-time, non-exempt hourly role with salary in the mid-range for the location, and requires DoD security clearance eligibility as well as forklift certification.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent and 4 years additional education/related experience.
  • Ability to maintain accurate inventory records and manage the receipt and distribution of parts and equipment.
  • Ability to prepare and package materials for safe and compliant transportation to supported locations.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a forklift license and DoD security clearance.

Summary

Join HII as we keep the world's most powerful Navy afloat! This position will be a part of the Commander, Naval Air Forces - Atlantic (CNAL) Enhaned Quality of Life (EQOL) team. This position is responsible for managing and maintaining inventory control within the Building V-88 warehouse for the team. The role supports U.S. Navy operations by ensuring timely and accurate handling of parts and equipment. This is a full-time position, located in Norfolk, VA.


What You Will Do


  • Maintains accurate inventory control and ensures proper storage, documentation, and organization of materials within the warehouse.


  • Receives, inspects, and records incoming equipment and supplies in accordance with established procedures.


  • Prepares, packages, and stages materials for safe and compliant transportation to designated locations.


  • Coordinates and completes deliveries of parts and equipment to supported operational units or facilities.


  • Operates warehouse equipment, including forklifts, and obtains and maintains required certifications.


  • Utilizes standard software tools, such as Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Teams, to track inventory, prepare reports, and collaborate with team members.



What You Must Have


  • High School Diploma or equivalent and 4 years additional education and/or related experience.


  • Ability to maintain accurate inventory records and manage the receipt and distribution of parts and equipment.


  • Ability to prepare and package materials for safe and compliant transportation to supported locations.


  • Ability to obtain and maintain a forklift driver’s license.


  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Security clearance and base access.


  • Proficient using MS office software such as MS Teams and MS Excel.



Bonus Points For


  • A current, active DoD Confidential security clearance or higher.


  • Prior U.S. Navy Supply system experience is a plus.



Physical Requirements

Ability to lift forty pounds, carry and transport heavy equipment and boxes and work in high heat/cold environments, aboard ships, under industrial conditions, in confined spaces, at heights, and in extreme weather. Ability to operate portable power tools. Work may involve climbing and working on ladders.
