Job summary

Mission Technologies, a division of HII, is seeking a Logistics Specialist in Virginia Beach to support a wide range of global logistics functions. The role develops requisitions, tracks equipment and parts, and manages records of Government Furnished Property to include import/export compliance. U.S.

citizen with Top Secret clearance is required. Relocation assistance is available for candidates outside the state.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in related field with 6+ years of relevant experience; or Master's with 4+ years; or HS diploma with 10+ years of relevant experience.
• U.S. Citizen required; Top Secret Security Clearance required.

Responsibilities

• Controls the efficient flow of goods, services, and information from origin to customer.
• Ensures customer service and time objectives are met within financial constraints.
• Executes and improves standard logistics processes (replenishment, data systems, demand management).
• Builds relationships with strategic customers through logistics initiatives.

Role

HII - Mission Technologies is seeking a Logistics Specialist in our Virginia Beach, Virginia location. This position will support an in-office work schedule.

Relocation assistance is available for the selected candidate if residing out of state.

The Logistics Specialist supports a wide range of logistics functions across the globe. Develops and reviews requisitions for and manages records of equipment, components, repair parts, and supplies; tracks materials and parts in transit; reviews configuration changes to evaluate the impact on logistics deployment. Supports management and reporting of Government Furnished Property and Contractor Acquired Property to include import and export compliance and recurring inventories.

What You Will Do

• Controls the efficient flow of goods, services, and information between point of origin through customer placement in order to meet customer requirements
• Ensures that customer service and time objectives are achieved within existing financial constraints in order to meet marketing and financial objectives
• Ensures the execution and continuous improvement of standard logistics processes, such as the replenishment system, data interchange systems, demand management, electronic data systems administration and related functions
• Builds relationships with strategic customers through logistics initiatives
• Integrates learning from customers, competitors, operating entities, distribution, transportation, customer service, other industries, industry groups, and professional training to continuously improve competitive position
• Oversees and manages all logistical aspects of a world-wide multi-site program responsible for advising program leadership on best practices to ensure compliance while meeting program goals
• Controls the flow of raw and finished goods, services, and information between point of origin through receipt at the manufacturing site, through to customer placement in order to meet customer or manufacturing requirements
• Ensures the execution and continuous improvement of logistics processes, such as the replenishment system, data interchange systems, demand management, electronic data systems administration, and related functions
• Ensures that customer service and time objectives are achieved within existing financial constraints in order to meet marketing and financial objectives
• Builds relationships with manufacturing, suppliers, and customers through the resolution of delivery issues
• Integrates market intelligence from operating entities, distribution, transportation, suppliers, and customers to continuously improve competitive position
• Develops advanced concepts, techniques, and standards. Develops new applications based on professional principles and theories
• Viewed as expert in field within the corporation
• Safety protocols (Warehouse safety), including loading and unloading pallets, CONEX Containers, small and large equipment, and equipment/material storage shelves

What We Are Looking For

• 6 years of relevant experience with bachelor's in related field; 4 years relevant experience with master's in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 10 years relevant experience
• U.S. Citizen
• Top Secret Security Clearance

Preferred: Bonus Points For...

• Experience with eQuip Asset Management and Asset Tracking Software
• Leadership roles with small groups or teams
• Supervised/worked in a warehouse environment
• Fork truck driver experience (Up to a 36K)
• Organizational, Teamwork, and Quality Control skills

Physical Requirements: Must be able to work in a warehouse environment. Must be able to lift, carry, and transport heavy equipment.
