Job summary

Carey Baptist College is seeking a passionate Secondary Mathematics Teacher to join the team for January 2027. The role supports Year 11–12 ATAR Mathematics Methods or Applications where available, within a faith‑based learning community on our Forrestdale campus.

The successful candidate will deliver engaging curricula, embed AVID-based pedagogy, and foster analytical thinking while supporting student wellbeing and a collaborative culture across the secondary department.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Education (Secondary) with a Maths specialization is required.
Experience with AVID pedagogy and Visible Learning practices is preferred.
Ability to use data and formative feedback to guide progress is expected.
Active Christian faith and alignment with the college’s Christian ethos is valued.

Responsibilities

Deliver engaging curriculum across Secondary Mathematics, including ATAR Mathematics Methods or Applications when possible.
Embed explicit pedagogy using AVID frameworks to develop inquiry and collaboration.
Foster mathematical thinking and real‑world problem solving in a high‑expectation classroom.
Support student wellbeing and contribute to a faith‑infused learning community.
Collaborate with colleagues to align learning programs with the college’s mission.
