Job summary

CSU Bakersfield is seeking an Instructional Student Assistant for Mathematics to support faculty through grading and facilitating group work in various math courses. The position is open to matriculated students and rotates per-semester based on course needs.

Hours are 0–20 per week, on-site at the campus, and compensation starts at $17.86 per hour. Applicants should have completed math courses with a B or higher and be able to contribute to a welcoming learning environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide instructional support to assigned instructors in mathematics by grading papers in a variety of mathematics courses or facilitating group work and discussions.
• Assist the instructor in lab/activity sessions, and/or perform other duties as assigned by the Department Chair in consultation with an appropriate faculty member.
• Department’s website management.
