Job summary

Sinclair College in Ohio seeks part-time adjunct faculty to teach mathematics at partner correctional institutions across multiple locations. The role involves delivering face-to-face instruction in day, evening, and weekend classes with a starting pay of $1,046 per credit hour assigned to teach.

Ideal candidates hold a master's in mathematics or statistics (or equivalent) and are prepared to pass a DRC background check.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in mathematics or statistics, or a master’s degree with 18 graduate credit semester hours in mathematics or statistics is required.
• Demonstrated commitment to improving student learning through innovative strategies shown to help students succeed at the course and program level.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work successfully in a community college environment.
• Must possess demonstrated skills in using modern educational technology, including multimedia-based instruction.
• Must be able to teach face-to-face in a prison education setting.
• Ability to pass a DRC background check required.

Responsibilities

• Adjunct faculty teach curriculum developed by the department.
• Plan and organize instruction in ways which maximize student learning.
• Prepare and provide syllabi for all assigned sections in accordance with department and divisional policies.
• Employ appropriate teaching and learning strategies, use available instructional technology when appropriate.
• Modify, where appropriate, instructional methods and strategies to meet diverse student notes.
