Job summary

The Ladder Method in Los Angeles is seeking experienced Academic Coaches for in-person math and science tutoring. Join a premier private education team delivering personalized support to West Los Angeles families.

We value strong tutoring history, excellent communication, and a commitment to helping students build confidence and study skills. Hours are part-time, 10–15 per week, with compensation based on experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher required.
• Strong academic background in Math, Physics, Chemistry or related field.
• Prior tutoring or teaching experience required.
• Experience working with high-net-worth families strongly preferred.
• Familiarity with LA independent schools highly desired.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
• Available for weekday afternoons/evenings and at least one weekend day.
• Available for approximately 10–15 hours per week.

Responsibilities

• Deliver in-person tutoring sessions in Los Angeles areas.
• Adapt lessons to individual student needs and goals.
• Maintain clear communication with families and provide progress updates.

We Are Specifically Seeking Tutors With Strong Proficiency In

• Algebra I
• Algebra II
• Geometry
• Precalculus
• Trigonometry
• Calculus AB and/or BC
• Statistics

Proficiency in Science subjects is a plus, but not required.

We are looking for individuals to work in-person in Los Angeles. The main areas we serve are:

• West areas: Santa Monica, Brentwood, Pacific Palisades
• Central areas: Beverly Hills, Cheviot Hills, Bel-Air, Hancock Park
• East areas: Silver Lake, Echo Park, Los Feliz
• San Fernando Valley: Sherman Oaks, Burbank, Tarzana, Reseda, Pasadena

We are currently hiring for both immediate placement and the upcoming school year.

Compensation & Benefits

• $45-$65 per hour (based on experience and education)

Compensation is for in-person tutoring and is determined by experience, subject expertise, and education.
