Job summary

The University of Georgia is seeking a Math Tutor to support student-athletes enrolled in MATH, STAT, PHYS, CSCI, or related courses. This role provides one-on-one or small group tutoring on campus in Athens.

Responsibilities include preparing sessions, maintaining logs, reviewing topics beforehand, ensuring NCAA compliance, and coordinating with the Math Lab Coordinator and academic counselors for scheduling.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Math, Education or related field.
• At least 1 year of teaching or tutoring experience.
• Familiarity with current technologies used to teach math, including computer programs and graphing calculators.

Responsibilities

• Tutor student(s) and aid in their understanding of the material.
• Maintain a record of tutoring sessions, topics covered, progress, time spent and student preparedness.
• Review course topics ahead of sessions to be prepared.
• Ensure compliance with NCAA, SEC, and institutional rules pertaining to academic assistance.
• Communicate schedule changes or needs with Math Lab Coordinator and academic counselors.
