THE BAY AREA TUTORING CENTERS, INC. in San Ramon is seeking a Math Tutor to work in person at our center. If you love helping students and understand Alg1, Alg2, Geometry, Precalculus, and Calculus, you will fit right in.

This part-time role offers 18-24 hours per week with shifts Mon-Thurs 3:30-10pm and weekends 10am-9pm. Training is provided at our San Ramon location, and tutors who work 24+ hours are eligible for company benefits including health insurance.

Qualifications

• Must be able to teach Alg1, Alg2 and Geometry OR Precalculus and Calculus, including honors and AP.
• Bachelor's degree required or in progress.
• Prior tutoring experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Tutor different levels of math in person at our San Ramon center.
• Availability during the school year: Mon–Thurs 3:30-10pm and weekends 10am-9pm.
• Participate in paid training, prep time, and staff meetings.

Position Description:

If you love working with students as much as you love studying math, we want to meet you! At BATC,

we believe a tutor's academic expertise is just as important as their ability to effectively convey the subject matter to students of all levels and backgrounds. We are seeking personable, focused and

enthusiastic individuals to tutor different levels of math in person at our center in San Ramon ( this is not a remote tutoring position).

All training will take place in our San Ramon center. Math tutor positions require availability during the

school year (a combination of shifts, Mon-Thurs 3:30-10pm and weekends 10am-9pm).

Working at BATC:

• Pay is $33/hr and up, DOE

• We offer set shifts; your regular hours are guaranteed whether or not we are able to schedule students in

them

• Paid training, prep time and staff meetings

• Tutors who work 24+ hrs/wk are eligible for "full-time" benefits, including company subsidized health insurance.

Qualifications:

Math tutors must have a thorough understanding of and ability to teach Alg1, Alg2 and Geometry OR Precalculus and Calculus, including honors and AP. Tutors must be able to take initiative and work independently. At the same time, we expect tutors to collaborate with each other in order to develop and/or expand curricula. Prior tutoring experience is preferred and a bachelor's degree (or ongoing study towards a degree) is required.

All candidates will be given an assessment test in their subject prior to extending an invitation for an interview. The assessment exam needs to be taken at BATC's San Ramon Office. All of our tutoring sessions are coducted at San Ramon location. This position is not for applicants who prefer tutoring remotely.
