Job description

Terms of Employment: 194 or 196 days, depending on experience within WCSD.

Position Criteria:

• Valid State of Iowa teaching license.
• 5-12 Mathematics endorsement.

Performance Criteria:

• Create and maintain healthy relationships with students.
• Demonstrate competence with grading and assessment principles, including:
  • Differentiation of instruction and assessment to promote student growth.
  • Use multiple data points to determine the summative grade.
  • Ensure course grades reflect only academic achievement of standards.
  • Provide meaningful, purposeful independent practice tied to standards.
  • Offer students multiple opportunities to demonstrate proficiency through ongoing assessment.
• Show flexibility, motivation, and enthusiasm when working with 9th-grade learners.
• Understand and apply the principles of a Professional Learning Community (PLC) within team settings.
• Utilize the Waukee Framework for Meeting the Needs of All Students by differentiating instruction and supporting diverse learners, including special populations.
• Experience with various teaching methods such as co-teaching, collaboration, whole/small group, and individualized instruction.
• Commit to ongoing professional growth aligned with Iowa Professional Development Standards and Iowa Teaching Standards.
• Understand and implement the MTSS process.
• Communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
• Maintain accurate, timely grades and provide measurable, constructive feedback on student work.
