Job Description

A Long-Term Substitute is defined as a substitute for an assignment lasting more 15 consecutive days for one teacher.

Steps to Become a Long-Term Substitute Teacher:

• Complete an Online Employment Application and attach supporting documentation (copy of transcript, degree, teaching certificate, etc.). Minimum of 60 college credits required.
• Contact by school administration regarding position.
• Completion of fingerprinting/background check and I-9. To complete an I-9 and to schedule a fingerprinting appointment, visit: Background Check . (Do not schedule until you have been offered a position.)
• Submission of required documents

  • Tax Withholding Forms

HCPS Long-Term Substitute Teacher Pay Rates: $194.10/day
