Job summary

Milton Gottesman Jewish Day School of the Nation's Capital is seeking Math teachers for our Elementary and Middle School Divisions for the 2025-2026 school year. The role emphasizes inspiring a love of math and delivering engaging, student-centered instruction across grade levels.

The candidate should hold a Bachelor’s Degree (Art of Problem Solving experience preferred) and demonstrate strong communication and collaboration with students, families, and colleagues to support growth and positive

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably with prior experience teaching Art of Problem Solving.
Ability to communicate, motivate, and understand the students’ educational and emotional needs.
Ability to work cooperatively and communicate effectively with other teachers, support staff, parents and members of the community

Responsibilities

Inspire a love of math in students through teaching.
Plan, prepare, and deliver lesson plans and instruction in a manner that facilitates active, student-centered learning using various teaching methods such as discussions, group activities, and occasional lectures.
Work with students to encourage and facilitate each individual’s growth.
Collaborate actively with math department colleagues, including on curriculum and course planning.
Keep attendance records; manage student behavior in the classroom and maintain a positive educational environment for all students.
Work in an organized, dependable, patient, and creative manner.
