Description
Provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences designed to help them fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. Enable students to develop competencies and skills to function successfully in society. Assist and support the building principal to ensure on-site administration, execution of the district's educational programs, policies, regulations, and quality instruction in a safe and healthy environment.
- Develop and implement lesson plans that fulfill the requirements of the district's instruction curriculum program and show written evidence of preparation as required.
- Prepare lessons that reflect accommodations for differences in student learning styles.
- Present subject matter according to guidelines established by the Texas Education Agency, Board of Trustee policies, and administrative regulations.
- Establish and maintain standards of pupil behavior.
- Establish a system of student evaluation within the guidelines prescribed in state law or adopted by the school district.
- Continuously evaluate and record various aspects of students’ progress and report to parents as needed and required.
- Teach within the course of study for the subject area at the prescribed grade level.
- Understand and plan lessons aligned with subject area objectives and prepare written lesson plans for substitutes.
- Provide a variety of planned learning experiences using diverse media and methods to motivate students and optimize instruction time.
- Identify pupil needs and collaborate with professional staff to assess and help students resolve health, attitude, and learning issues.
- Be available for counseling with students and parents before and after school.
- Participate in community engagement activities such as open house and PTA meetings to interpret educational programs.
- Plan and coordinate work of aides, paraprofessionals, and student teachers when applicable.
- Work with the principal to develop and participate in the evaluation system according to district guidelines.
- Maintain accurate records of student information and compile all required reports and documents.
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance at the worksite.

Physical Demands:
Regularly required to sit; use hands to handle objects; talk or hear. Frequently reach with hands and arms. Occasionally stand and walk. Must routinely lift/move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities include close, distance, and color vision.
Work Environment:
The noise level is usually moderate. Travel within the district is required. A remote work arrangement is not an option for campus-based employees, as regular attendance and presence are essential.
Qualifications
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university
- Valid Texas teacher certificate with necessary endorsements for the assigned subject and level
- Knowledge of curriculum and instruction
- Ability to follow specific instructions with little or no previous experience
- Flexibility to adapt to a rapidly changing environment
- Willingness to stay current with professional developments
