  • Foster a structured, positive learning environment for all students.
  • Investigate innovative teaching methods and materials for use in the classroom.

Additional Athletic/Afternoon and Residential Life responsibilities will vary based on the candidate’s experience and interests, as well as the school’s needs. Candidates should be prepared to take on a combination of the following:

  • Coach sports teams (JV/Varsity), lead Outdoor Programs (mountain biking, hiking, climbing, whitewater kayaking, fly fishing, disc sports, etc.), or direct afternoon programs and clubs (Drama, Quiz Bowl, literary magazine, art, etc.).
  • Supervise a dormitory, either as a resident houseparent or an adjunct.
  • Monitor evening study halls.
  • Provide transportation and supervision for weekend activities.
  • Mentor a small group of students through an advising program.

Qualification Requirements:

  • Sincere interest in educating, encouraging, and inspiring young men.
  • An undergraduate degree in Mathematics, Mathematics Education, or a related field; a master’s degree in one of these fields or relevant professional experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in the use of technology in the classroom.
  • The ability to communicate clearly and proactively with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • A demonstrated desire to learn and implement new teaching methods such as modeling instruction and project/problem-based learning.
