Collaboration & Communication: Actively collaborate with math department colleagues, interdisciplinary teams, and school administration to align curricula, coordinate benchmark assessments, and share instructional best practices. Maintain open, proactive communication with parents and guardians regarding student academic progress, intervention plans, and performance goals.

Professional Growth: Consistently participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with secondary mathematics pedagogy, data-driven instruction techniques, and emerging breakthroughs in educational technology and STEM integration.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Mathematics Education, or a closely related STEM field (Master's degree preferred).

Certification: Valid state teaching credential/license in Secondary Mathematics (Grades 7-12 or 9-12).

Experience: Prior student teaching or professional classroom experience at the high school level is highly desirable.

Background: Clean background check and compliance with all district employment requirements.

Technical Skills

Learning Management Systems (LMS): Proficiency with platforms like Google Classroom, Canvas, or Schoology.

Mathematical & Educational Tech: Ability to integrate digital graphing tools (e.g., Desmos, GeoGebra), graphing calculators (TI-84/TI-Nspire), interactive display boards, and adaptive math software (e.g., DeltaMath, IXL, Khan Academy) into daily instruction and practice.

Data & Grading: Competency in using digital gradebooks and student information systems (e.g., PowerSchool, Infinite Campus) to track student performance and monitor standard mastery.

Productivity Suites: Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel) and Google Workspace.

Core Skills & Competencies

Classroom Management: Proven ability to maintain a productive, structured, and respectful environment during both direct instruction and collaborative group work.

Differentiated Instruction: Skill in modifying lessons and problem sets to support English Language Learners (ELL), students with IEPs/504 plans, and advanced math students seeking honors/AP-level rigor.

Quantitative Reasoning & Analytical Thinking: Ability to guide students in analyzing complex word problems, understanding logical proofs, identifying numerical patterns, and developing multi-step solutions.
