Job summary

Acceleration Academies seeks a MathContent Coach (Math Teacher) to serve as the primary instructional resource for Graduation Candidates, delivering competency-based content and guiding students toward graduation and post-secondary success. You will work with a collaborative team to provide academic, social-emotional, and career-oriented support in person at Cincinnati Acceleration Academy.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree with 2+ years teaching experience (high school preferred).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred.
• Licensure: Ohio Adolescence to Young Adult (7-12) license in Integrated Mathematics preferred; Ohio license transfer possible.
• 2+ years of teaching experience (high school preferred).
• All hires complete Ohio BCI/FBI background checks and Rapback enrollment.

Responsibilities

• Support GC enrollment through recruitment and engagement efforts.
• Assist with development of Personalized Learning Plans for GCs.
• Advise assigned GCs and maintain communication with learners and support team.
• Monitor attendance, academic progress and overall wellness for engagement.
• Plan and deliver content-area instruction in individual and small group settings.
• Monitor progress toward course completion and mastery using assessments.
• Collaborate with support team to develop personalized learning pathways and transition strategies.
• Represent the academy in community events and support academy initiatives.

The Role
As a MathContent Coach (Math Teacher), you will serve as the primary instructional resource for our Graduation Candidates (GCs), delivering competency‑based content, supporting personalized learning, and guiding students toward graduation and post‑secondary success. You’ll work with a collaborative team to provide academic, social‑emotional, and career‑oriented support that empowers each learner’s journey.

This position is onsite at Cincinnati Acceleration Academy. Additional cities listed on this posting reflect the surrounding areas we recruit from, not alternate work sites.

Key Responsibilities

• Support new GC enrollment through recruitment and engagement efforts
• Assist with the development of Personalized Learning Plans for GCs

Retention

• Serve as an advisor for assigned GCs by maintaining communication with learners and their support team
• Monitor attendance, academic progress, and overall wellness to ensure consistent engagement and achievement
• Plan and deliver content‑area instruction in both individual and small group settings
• Monitor GC academic progress toward course completion and mastery using formative and summative assessments
• Analyze and use academic data to inform instruction and improve outcomes

Advocacy

• Collaborate with the GC support team to develop personalized learning pathways, transition strategies, and incentive plans
• Represent the academy in community events and contribute to academy‑wide initiatives
• Perform other responsibilities as needed to support the academy’s mission

What We’re Looking For

Education: Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s preferred

Licensure: Ohio Adolescence to Young Adult (7-12) license in Integrated Mathematics preferred. Not yet licensed in Ohio? We welcome candidates on multiple pathways: educators with a comparable out‑of‑state math license (we support Ohio license transfer), and candidates with a bachelor’s degree in mathematics or a related field, who may qualify to teach math through Ohio’s substitute licensure pathway with unlimited teaching days in their subject area. All hires complete Ohio BCI/FBI background checks and Rapback enrollment.

Experience: 2+ years of teaching experience (high school preferred)

Skills: Strong communication, time management, instructional planning, and collaboration skills

Passion: A deep commitment to helping at‑risk youth succeed academically and personally

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in non‑traditional or at‑risk youth settings
• Familiarity with behavior intervention strategies and alternative education models
• Experience with competency‑based learning, instructional coaching, or project‑based education
• Strong comfort with educational technology tools and platforms
