Job summary

KIPP Colorado is seeking an instructional leader to drive student outcomes with rigorous, culturally sustaining instruction. Plan, implement, and assess standards-based lessons while meeting ESSA criteria and collaborating with special education staff.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree, teaching experience, and strong communication. Spanish bilingual ability is preferred. Will participate in before/after hours events and contribute to school-wide initiatives and family outreach.

  • Support campus-wide operations and duty coverage.
  • Develop standards-based unit plans and assessments aligned with objectives.
  • Grade student work and provide feedback and support.
  • Analyze data to adjust instructional plans and monitor progress toward goals.
  • Collaborate with special education staff to implement student plans.
  • Attend school functions and district events.
  • Participate in professional development and team meetings.
  • Assist with recruitment and engagement activities.

Job description

  • Serve as the instructional leader of the classroom and drive student outcomes and an exceptional student experience
  • Develop rigorous, engaging, affirming, grade-level, and culturally sustaining instruction
  • Plan instruction, organize learning activities, internalize lessons, and grade equitably and consistently
  • Implement accommodations and modifications for students’ IEPs, BIPs, 504 Plans, ALPs, and MTSS interventions
  • Create and cultivate a culturally responsive classroom community
  • Uphold school-wide expectations and manage Tier 1 behaviors
  • Contact families proactively and responsively; communicate about academic progress and behavior
  • Support campus-wide operations through arrival, dismissal, lunch, hallway, bathroom, transition, and absence-coverage duties
  • Develop standards-based unit plans, scope and sequences, weekly plans, and daily lesson plans
  • Design and implement assessments aligned with daily objectives
  • Grade student work and provide feedback and support
  • Use adopted instructional materials and curriculum with fidelity
  • Analyze student data to adjust instructional plans, reteach, reassess, and monitor progress toward goals
  • Collaborate with special services and special education staff to implement student plans and supports
  • Establish relationships with students and families based on trust and respect
  • Enforce positive behavior systems and monitor behavior data
  • Attend school functions, parent meetings, conferences, evening events, field trips, and community events
  • Participate in professional development, grade-level and department meetings, coaching sessions, and school-wide initiatives
  • Assist with student and staff recruitment and engagement, including events, home visits, and calls home
  • Maintain accurate and timely records, grade books, and data tracking systems
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree (required)
  • Ability and willingness to fulfill state and federal guidelines for Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) criteria (required)
  • Ability to participate in required before-school, after-school, evening, and weekend events and activities

  • Completion of specialized certification requirements as applicable, including MLE coursework, CDE literacy modules, ECE professional licensure, and ESSA highly qualified status
