Birch Agency is seeking a passionate Middle School Math Teacher to join a K-8 public charter school in Cleveland, Ohio for the 2026-2027 school year. This on-site, full-time role focuses on helping students strengthen their math skills and confidence.

You will deliver lessons aligned to Ohio standards, differentiate for diverse learners, and use engaging strategies and technology. Spanish welcomed but not required, with collaborative support from staff.

Qualifications

• Valid Ohio teaching license or substitute license, or ability to renew an existing license.
• Previous teaching experience in middle school mathematics preferred.
• Knowledge of Ohio Learning Standards for Mathematics preferred.
• Experience working with students in grades 6-8 is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver engaging math lessons aligned with Ohio standards for middle school students.
• Teach key mathematical concepts including number systems, ratios & proportions, expressions & equations, geometry, statistics, and problem-solving.
• Create a structured, supportive classroom environment that promotes engagement and achievement.
• Differentiate instruction to accommodate diverse learning needs.
• Use varied instructional strategies, technology, and hands-on activities to make math concepts accessible.
• Assess student understanding through assignments, quizzes, tests, and observations.
• Analyze student performance data and adjust instruction to address gaps.
• Establish clear classroom expectations and foster positive behavior.
• Encourage critical thinking, mathematical reasoning, and independent problem-solving.
• Provide additional support and interventions for students who need help mastering concepts.
• Collaborate with school leadership, fellow teachers, special education staff, and other personnel.
• Maintain accurate student records and follow school policies.
