Arlington High School seeks a Math Support Teacher for the 2024-2025 school year to support Grade 7 students facing challenges in mathematics. The ideal candidate should be certified in middle school mathematics and have a strong background in differentiated instruction and data-driven teaching practices.

The Ottoson Middle School is looking for an enthusiastic educator to join our team for the 2024-2025 school year. We are looking for an educator certified in Middle School Mathematics to be a Math Support Teacher for Grade 7 Students.
POSITION GOAL:
Middle school math support is a Tier II elective course for general and special education students identified as having particular challenges in math. It's goal it to reinforce concepts taught in the student's daily math class.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Relevant grade-level mathematics teacher certification, (Mathematics, 6-8)
Five or more years of successful classroom teaching experience
Deep knowledge of current curriculums and state frameworks
Content and pedagogical understanding of middle school mathematics
Experience differentiating mathematics instruction for all learners
Strong knowledge and understanding of Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) and Universal Design for Learning (UDL)
Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with teachers, coaches, staff, and leadership
Experience communicating with parents/guardians about how children learn mathematics
Experience with effective use of student data
Ability to analyze data and familiarity with spreadsheets
Ability to discuss aggregated and disaggregated student learning data with teachers, coaches, and leadership
Ability to weave intervention into classroom instruction and maintain communication with classroom teachers.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Teach multiple sections of math support classes, where students are scheduled into the support class two of the four day cycle
Coteach a small group math class
Provide push-in support for a block of the day during one semester.
Support the development and teaching of a math enrichment elective to occur during one block during one semester
Primarily work with students on developing their understanding of mathematics through their strength
Collaboratewith other teachers and support staff.
