The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse is seeking a Math Specialist to provide one-on-one and small-group tutoring for TRIO Student Support Services participants, emphasizing a learner-centered approach.
Reporting to the Director of SSS, you will supervise peer tutors, coordinate onboarding and training, and collaborate with the math department and Tutoring & Learning Center to align support with curricular expectations. This is a 9-month, 30-hours-per-week position.

The Math Specialist will provide one-on-one and small-group instruction and tutoring to TRIO Student Support Services (SSS) participants for a learner-centered approach to meeting success outcomes.
As the supervisor for peer tutors in the program, this position will provide onboarding, training, and oversight of student-employee performance goals.
As liaison for SSS, the Math Specialist works closely with UWL math department faculty and Tutoring & Learning Center leadership to maintain relationships and align support practices according to curricular expectations.
SSS-eligible students include first-generation, low-income students and students with disabilities.
This position reports directly to the Director of SSS.
This is a 9-month position that coincides with our Academic Year and requires 30 hours per week.
