Math & Science Instructor for GeoFORCE

Position Details

GeoFORCE Math & Science Instructors are graduate students, researchers, or faculty in the fields of Chemistry, Physics, and Mathematics. Each instructor is expected to instruct approximately 30 incoming college freshmen for 2 hours each day, Monday – Friday, during the week of the Math & Science Institute. Instructors will also prep and grade assignments to help students prepare for their first semester of a STEM degree in college. Those selected will be required to attend a mandatory virtual training in May.

GeoFORCE Mission

GeoFORCE is a youth education outreach program that recruits students in Austin, Houston, and Southwest Texas. The Jackson School of Geosciences at the University of Texas created GeoFORCE to identify and develop the next generation of STEM leadership for discovery, research, and management of energy, minerals, water, the environment, and natural hazards for the benefit of society.

Position Specifics
  • Weekly Scheduled Hours: 10
  • FLSA Status: Non‑Exempt
  • Earliest Start Date: Immediately
  • Position Duration: Expected to continue until Aug 15, 2026
  • Location: PICKLE RESEARCH CAMPUS
Responsibilities
