Job summary

Responsibilities

  • Prepare materials for lessons, demonstrations, and assessments.
  • Complete training on school-wide assessment systems, including state mandated ethics training.
  • Conduct regular assessments in multiple grade levels with fidelity checks to ensure assessments are valid and reliable.
  • Operate equipment including computers, printers, photocopiers, and laminators.
  • Ensure that students have all materials necessary for class activities.
  • Work with students in small groups for extension or remediation.
  • Provide extra help as needed to students with physical, mental, or linguistic limitations.
  • Maintain detailed records of students' progress on instructional or behavioral goals.
  • Provide regular communication with classroom teachers regarding students' progress.
  • Ensure a positive and supportive group environment where students are held to high expectations and given support as needed.
  • Enforce school rules and policies.

Overview

We are looking for a responsible and vivacious Instructional Aide to join the team at Edith Bowen Laboratory School. As an Instructional Aide, the selected candidate will work with students and perform additional tasks to support teachers in providing a comprehensive educational program. Our ideal candidate is industrious, cooperative and knowledgeable about educational best practices and child development.

This position is an up to 20 hour per week with hours occurring during the school day (roughly 8:30-3:00 on school days), some flexibility can be given around scheduling if the candidate has excellent qualifications.
