Mathnasium, a leading math tutoring center in Newton, is seeking Math Instructors/Tutors for the Fall 2024 semester. This role caters to students from grades 1-8 in a fun atmosphere where all materials are prepared for you. Strong mathematical skills, including knowledge through Algebra 1, and a passion for working with children are essential. Flexibility in working hours is available, allowing you to choose from various weekly shifts, with hiring commencing preparations for the school year starting in September.

Qualifications

• Must score 700+ on SAT Math or equivalent ACT score.
• No official tutoring experience needed.
• Flexible hours: 2, 3, or 4 shifts/week.

Responsibilities

• Work with students grades 1-8, explaining math.
• Prepare for classes using lesson plans provided by directors.
• Complete a math literacy test for proficiency.

Mathnasium is a FUN and UPBEAT Math-only Learning Center in Newton, West Newton, Needham, Wellesley, Walpole, Brookline, and Belmont. We have several openings for In-Person math tutors who would like to help kids in a fun and upbeat environment. This job starts in September 2024.

No official tutoring experience needed but …

• Must be strong in math through Algebra 1.
• Must enjoy working with kids (1st-8th grade).
• An SAT Math score 700+ or ACT equivalent.
• Must be open to learning new ways of teaching math and working with children.
• Must be in 11th grade or older.

Your Role

You’ll be working with students grades 1-8, explaining math. All worksheets and lesson plans are prepared by center directors and prepared for you.

Working Hours

Flexible Hours - You choose when you work: 2, 3, or 4 shifts/week

Mon, Tue, Wed, Thu : 3:00 pm – 7:30 pm

Fri: 3:00 pm - 6pm (Needham, and Wellesley)

Sat, Sun: 10am - 2pm (Only Newton, Wellesley, Fresh Pond, and Brookline Center)

Compensation: $0.17 - $0.20 per hour

Thus, each franchisee and each franchisee center is unique and the franchisee is alone responsible for all employment matters in their center.
