Job summary

Mathnasium of Spanish Fork is seeking a Math Instructor/Tutor to engage K-12 students, motivate learning, and deliver individualized instruction in a small-group setting after school and on weekends.

We offer a flexible, part-time schedule, a supportive team culture, and opportunities for advancement. Applicants should have strong math skills through Algebra I or higher, excellent interpersonal abilities, eagerness to learn, and be prepared to take a math literacy test and background check.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Actively encourage, motivate, and engage with students during instructional sessions
• Work collaboratively with team members to deliver individualized instruction in a group setting
• Correct student work and provide positive, constructive feedback
• Manage student behavior to create a positive learning environment
• Maintain a growth mindset toward student learning and teaching practice
• Assist in non-teaching tasks, such as cleaning or administrative duties

Job Responsibilities

• Actively encourage, motivate, and engage with students during the instructional session
• Work collaboratively with team members to deliver individualized instruction in a group setting
• Correct student work and provide positive, constructive feedback
• Manage student behavior to create a positive environment that optimizes learning
• Maintain a growth mindset toward student learning and teaching practice.
• Assist in non-teaching tasks, which may include cleaning, administrative assistance, or other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Passion for math and working with students
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Eagerness to learn and be trained
• Exceptional math competency through at least Algebra I
• Ability to balance various ongoing tasks

All applicants will be required to take a math literacy test to demonstrate math proficiency, provide work authorization, and pass a background check.

Additional Info

• During the school year our center is open Monday-Thursday 12 pm -8 pm and Saturday 10am - 2pm.
• Scheduling is flexible, and we are more than happy to work with school and other work schedules.
• Instructors are paid from $12-$15/hour depending on experience, education, and math skills. There are opportunities for advancement into other positions- e.g., Lead Instructor.
