Job summary

Mathnasium of San Jose is seeking a part-time tutor to join our team. No lesson plan prep required; we provide all curriculum and materials. You will teach in-center, online, or hybrid, with small groups of students, and have flexible after-school and weekend hours.

Ideal candidates are passionate about math, have strong algebra skills, and enjoy working with students. A math proficiency test and background check are required; training is provided to use the Mathnasium Method.

Qualifications

• Passion for math and helping students understand where they need help.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Strong math skills through Algebra I.
• Must pass math literacy test, provide work authorization, and pass background check.

Responsibilities

• Teach/tutor in-center, online, and/or via hybrid delivery using the Mathnasium Method.
• Work collaboratively with team members to deliver individualized instruction in a small group setting.
• Assess students’ learning progress and engagement throughout instructional sessions.
• Become proficient with digital educational materials and processes.

• Exceptional math competency through at least Algebra I.
• All applicants will be required to take a math literacy test to demonstrate math proficiency, provide work authorization, and pass a background check.
