Job summary

Mathnasium of Delaware in Ohio is looking for a dedicated Math Instructor/Tutor to help students understand math concepts and gain confidence. You don’t need to be a professional teacher—high school or college students with strong math skills are encouraged to apply.

Training and advancement opportunities are available. The role is part‑time, in‑person, with weekday afternoons/evenings and some weekend hours.

Math Instructor / Tutor – Make Math Click for Kids...and FUN!

Mathnasium of Delaware is building our founding instructional team, and we’re looking for people who are not only strong in math, but who enjoy teaching, connect well with kids, and care about making a difference.

You don’t need to be a professional teacher to be a great fit.

You might be an exceptional high school student who loves math, a college student studying math, engineering, science, education, or another quantitative field, an active teacher looking for rewarding part‑time work, or a retired educator who still loves helping students learn.

What matters most to us is that you know your math, communicate it well, and genuinely enjoy working with young people.

What You’ll Do

• Work face‑to‑face with elementary, middle, and high school students in a fun, supportive learning environment
• Help students understand why math works instead of simply memorizing answers
• Teach using the proven Mathnasium Method™ and customized student learning plans
• Work with several students during a session while giving each student individual attention
• Encourage students, celebrate their progress, and help build real mathematical confidence
• Keep brief, accurate notes about student progress
• Work alongside a team of people who actually like math and like teaching it

High school students: Strong upper‑level students (juniors or seniors) with excellent math skills are encouraged to apply.

College students: Especially those studying mathematics, engineering, computer science, science, education, business, or other quantitative disciplines.

The Schedule

This is a part‑time, in‑person position at Mathnasium of Delaware, Ohio. Most instructional hours are weekday afternoons and evenings, making this particularly well suited for students, teachers, and professionals looking for meaningful part‑time work.

Our center should be a place where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, laughing, learning, and eventually saying: “Wait…that’s actually easy.”

As part of our hiring process instructor candidates complete a math literacy assessment so we can make sure everyone joining our instructional team has the mathematical foundation needed to help our students succeed.

As part of our hiring process here at Mathnasium, all applicants will be required to take a math literacy test to demonstrate math proficiency.

Pay: $13.00–$17.50 per hour, based on education, math proficiency, teaching/tutoring experience, and availability.

Your Schedule.

Our initial instructional schedule at Mathnasium of Delaware will be:

• Monday–Thursday: 3:30 PM–7:30 PM
• Sunday: 2:00 PM–6:00 PM

We will initially be closed for instruction on Fridays and Saturdays. As our student enrollment grows, we expect to add Friday instructional hours as well.

You do not need to be available for every shift. However, consistency matters to our students, so we’re looking for team members who can commit to a dependable weekly schedule of at least 12 hours per week.

During the application process, we’ll ask you to tell us which days you are regularly available to work.
