Job summary

A premier learning center in San Diego is seeking a Math Instructor / Tutor to deliver engaging math instruction to K-12 students. Candidates should have strong math skills through at least Algebra I and a passion for working with children. Successful applicants will enjoy flexible part-time hours and be part of a supportive environment fostering both student and employee development. All candidates are required to complete a math literacy test as part of the hiring process.

Qualifications

• Must demonstrate math proficiency via a literacy test.
• Strong ability to communicate progress to parents.
• Ability to teach using Mathnasium Method™.
• Strong math competency through Algebra I or higher.
• Ability to balance mentoring and instruction in a group setting.

Responsibilities

• Lead and instruct students in math in-group settings.
• Assess and report on students' learning progress.
• Collaborate with team members to enhance instruction.
• Teach in-center and online using the Mathnasium Method™ and related materials.
• Become proficient with digital teaching materials and processes.

What you will do as a Math Instructor / Tutor

• Lead, coach, and work collaboratively with team members to deliver individualized instruction in a group setting
• Assess students’ learning progress and engagement throughout instructional sessions
• Communicate student progress with parents and guardians
• Teach in-center and/or online using the Mathnasium Method™, terminology, and teaching practices
• Become proficient with digital educational materials and processes
