Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year college or university.
• Certified to teach in state in which center is located (RO may waive if center is unable to hire certified teachers, but the candidate must pursue certification)
• Experience working with diverse youth.

Responsibilities

• Promotes a positive atmosphere within the classroom to maximize student motivation.
• Maintains a high degree of discipline within the classroom to ensure maximum learning.
• Establishes a high degree of student/instructor rapport.
• Utilizes all possible curriculum resources available.
• Responsible for adequate classroom preparation.
• Maintains lesson plans relevant to course material.
• Records and forwards daily attendance to the Student Records area as required.
• Assists in the completion of all necessary Job Corps forms.
• Accountable for the cleanliness of classrooms.
• Prepares reports such as student/staff hours, requisitions, attendance, and monthly student evaluations.
• Operates in accordance with the requirements of PRH, SOPs, and corporate policies.
• Evaluates and records student progress/evaluations and case notes in CIS.
• Assists Supervisor during scheduled inventory.
• Communicates CSS and employability skills.
• Maintains accountability of staff, students, and property.
• Adheres to safety practices in all areas of responsibility.
• Fosters a conducive environment at the center, ensuring it remains safe for staff and students.
• Attends all required staff training opportunities.
