Coastal Alabama Community College seeks an Instructor to plan, prepare, present, and evaluate classroom and related activities across multiple campuses. Responsibilities include instruction, counseling, advising, committee participation, and professional activities within the Alabama system.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree from a regionally accredited institution required.
• 18 graduate credit hours in mathematics or related fields.
• Strong oral and written communication skills and flexibility to teach on multiple campuses.
• Proficiency with Office 365 and college platforms.

Responsibilities

• Develops curriculum, plans and organizes program courses in coordination with other department instructors, appropriate Division Chair, Director, and/or Dean to ensure compliance with curriculum.
• Plans each unit or lesson, both content and method, to make each class minute meaningful.
• Organizes courses taught into effective instruments of learning and utilizes student characteristics to facilitate optimal teaching and learning.
• Maximizes learning opportunities and uses virtual meeting/presentation formats as needed.
• Teaches lecture and/or lab courses on day, evening, or weekend schedules at Coastal Alabama Community College campuses or worksites.
• Post and maintain office hours for student consultations; file syllabi/outlines; submit required reports and attendance verification.
• Maintain prompt grading and respond to student communications within 24 hours Monday–Friday.
• Assist in textbook/adopt materials selection and participate in library resource development.
• Work with Division Chair on annual budget development for the Dean's approval.
• Serve as academic advisor as needed and complete referrals to Student Support Services.
• Assist with registrations, recruitment and retention efforts.
• Maintain expertise and engage in professional development; propose curriculum improvements.
• Complete Distance Education Certification (DEC) if teaching online courses.
