Qualifications

• Competency in math through at least Algebra 2; knowledge of Pre-calculus and Calculus is a plus.
• Excellent attendance, reliability, and communication skills are essential.

What is the difference between a Mathnasium Instructor and a traditional Tutor?

In a traditional tutoring setting, tutors have to teach off of whatever their student brings to them that night (homework, test review, etc). It is the tutor's responsibility to plan the best way to help the student. At Mathnasium, all students are a part of an ongoing program, and their curriculum is provided by Mathnasium. This removes the stress of scheduling tutoring sessions and planning lessons from the tutor. All Instructors are provided paid training to acquaint them with Mathnasium curriculum, teaching strategies, and how to team teach.

Compensation:

• Open availability + eagerness to work = Higher base hourly rate $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
• Performance Bonus (up to 10% annually) + Team Bonus Plan (up to 10% annually)

• Part-time 3:00 - 7:00 pm M-F Some weekend availability 10am - 2pm.

Who Are We Looking For:

Job Qualifications:

• Math competency through at least Algebra 2 (Pre-calculus and Calculus knowledge a plus!)
• Excellent attendance and reliability
• Proficient communication skills
• Passion for math and eager to learn
• Prior tutoring experience is preferred but not required

Requirements:

• Instruct using the Mathnasium Method (training provided)
• Score and correct student work
• Assist in non-teaching tasks as needed
• This is an in-center position.
• All applicants will be required to take a math proficiency test
• Provide work authorization and pass a background check.
