Job summary

Massachusetts Bay Community College is seeking a part-time Math and Computer Science Learning Specialist to support students in CS and mathematics. The role will work with individuals or groups to promote academic success and retention, and may train peer tutors within the Academic Achievement Center.

Responsibilities include delivering services for CS100 through CS120, developing learning sequences, and coordinating workshops and non-traditional programming.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Education, Computer Science, or closely related field; with one year of teaching, instructional technology or program development experience.
• Demonstrated commitment to student success and equitable access.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide academic services in CS and mathematics to individuals or groups.
• Develop learning sequences for students using assessments and interviews.
• Train peer tutors and coordinate collaborative learning groups.
• Support student retention through non-traditional programming and targeted resources.
• Collaborate with faculty and college personnel to expand academic support services.
