Job summary

Pearson specializes in creating standards-based assessments for U.S. state and district clients. As a Specialist, Content Developer (Mathematics) you will be both content and assessment expert, developing K-12 items across grade levels for large-scale assessments.

You will leverage AI-powered tools to create, review, and enhance content, collaborate with educators, and ensure accessibility; a strong background in education and five years teaching experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in education or related field required.
• Five years teaching experience in elementary or secondary preferred.
• Strong knowledge of content area and educational trends.
• Experience with AI-supported content development.
• Ability to prompt, refine and evaluate AI-generated content for education.
• Excellent oral and written communication.
• Willingness to learn new AI technologies and adapt.

Responsibilities

• Develop and review content-specific test items across grade levels for large-scale assessments.
• Help develop item, passage and test specifications and blueprints.
• Leverage AI-powered tools to support content development and accessibility.
• Collaborate to integrate AI-generated assets in assessment workflows.
• Help select, manage and train writers and educators for item development.
• Facilitate customer meetings and provide content assessment expertise.
• Support test construction reviews and planning with the team.
• Consult with customers in planning and status reviews.
• Work with test development managers, content developers, psychometricians and Pearson groups.
• Stay current with emerging AI technologies relevant to educational content creation.
