Placements24 is seeking a compassionate Maternity Nurse / Postpartum Doula to support new parents and their newborns in Paarl. The role focuses on the mother's recovery, newborn care, breastfeeding guidance, and emotional support during the postpartum period.

You will provide hands-on care, assist with feeding, monitor well-being, offer practical advice, and educate parents on newborn care and milestones. Flexible, contract-based schedule with competitive compensation.

Qualifications

• Certification as a Postpartum Doula or Maternity Nurse is highly preferred.
• Extensive experience in newborn care and postpartum support.
• Strong knowledge of breastfeeding support and infant sleep.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a nurturing and empathetic approach.
• Availability for contract work in Paarl.

This role focuses on supporting the mother's recovery, assisting with newborn care, and providing guidance and emotional support during the crucial postpartum period. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of newborn care, breastfeeding support, and postpartum recovery techniques, contributing to a calm and supportive family environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on care and support for newborns, including feeding, changing, and bathing.
• Assist and guide mothers with breastfeeding and establishing feeding routines.
• Monitor the well-being of both mother and baby, reporting any concerns to the parents.
• Offer emotional support and practical advice to new parents navigating the challenges of early parenthood.
• Perform light household tasks related to the baby's care, such as preparing bottles and baby laundry.
• Educate parents on newborn care practices and developmental milestones.
