Position Summary

Isom Elementary School is seeking a caring, enthusiastic, and student-centered educator to join our 2nd grade team as a temporary maternity leave replacement. The ideal candidate will be committed to creating a positive, engaging, and supportive classroom environment where all students feel valued and are encouraged to succeed.

The teacher will work collaboratively with the 2nd grade team, support students' academic and social-emotional growth, maintain positive communication with families, and contribute to the welcoming and supportive culture of Isom Elementary School.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality instruction aligned with district curriculum, academic standards, and student learning needs.
• Create and maintain a safe, positive, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment.
• Develop strong, supportive relationships with students that promote academic achievement and social-emotional growth.
• Collaborate effectively with grade-level teammates, support staff, specialists, and school administration.
• Monitor and assess student progress and use appropriate instructional strategies and interventions to support individual learning needs.
• Maintain positive and professional communication with parents and families regarding student progress, classroom expectations, and school activities.
• Support and implement schoolwide Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) and social-emotional learning initiatives.
• Maintain appropriate classroom routines, procedures, and behavioral expectations.
• Participate in grade-level planning, meetings, and other professional responsibilities as appropriate.
• Maintain a positive, professional, flexible, and student-centered approach throughout the assignment.
• Perform other duties related to the position as assigned by the building principal or administration.

Qualifications
