Job summary

Northwestern Medicine Delnor Hospital is seeking an experienced sonographer to perform diagnostic maternal-fetal ultrasound examinations and radiology imaging with expert technique. You will operate ultrasound equipment, ensure high-quality images, review orders, and maintain patient safety and comfort throughout procedures.

This role requires ARDMS OB credentials, Graduation from an accredited ultrasound program, and BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate of an accredited ultrasound sonography program.
• ARDMS OB credential required.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic maternal-fetal ultrasound examinations per policy and best-practice standards.
• Independently perform two-dimensional ultrasound imaging of female reproductive anatomy and fetal structures with clinical judgment.
• Review orders and patient history to determine appropriate examination protocols.
• Operate ultrasound equipment to produce high-quality images while minimizing patient exposure.
• Educate patients before, during, and after procedures to reduce anxiety and improve cooperation.
• Document procedures and results accurately for patient records and billing.
• Transmit studies to PACS with proper accession numbers for timely retrieval.
